Discernment

I sometimes wonder how I’m going to make ends meet. I pray and I put in overtime with my thoughts as to how things should go or might go but wait!  What am I thinking?  Is this truly what God is guiding me to do or is this my concluded thoughts and think this is the best way to go about it?  I can honestly say that it can be a little frustrating in the not knowing.  I felt myself falter.  God says,”If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength!” (Proverbs 24:10).  In other words, God is saying PAT, as much as I’ve done for you, the many blessings you have received, haven’t I always seen you through?  Where is your faith?  You know my work.  Why get discouraged now?!  Just listen to me through my word.  I will see you through.  So with this in mind, with asking for forgiveness, my thoughts were much clearer and my mind waiting for His direction.   I shared this with my partner at work and she is a God sent to listen and was blessed with my testimony and she prayed for me.  Wow, what a difference the power of prayer is!  I seen the clear path and the rest of my day was sequential.  My daughters and I had a marvelous day and God had directed my thoughts and path.  (Lesson): Don’t be like the Israelites where they were consistently tested after leaving the land of Egypt and lost faith in God.  (Synopsis): There is an account in Exodus 17:1-7 where the Israelites grumbled and asked Moses: “Why did you bring us out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst?” They are beginning to regret their new life as free men and are willing to return to the slavery of Egypt. This is just one instance of their lack of belief in God the Deliverer. God had shown them over and over again the reality of his presence and power. He did bring them out to live a new life and to enter the Promised Land. However only Caleb and Joshua entered in because the rest of the people lost faith in God. They refused to trust God and take on the Canaanites and possess the land and as such were condemned to wander for 40 years in the wilderness. God said in Nu14v23, “Not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their forefathers”  (Conclusion): Don’t lose faith!!
